RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada's governor and lieutenant governor are unveiling a new program urging residents to explore their own state.
Gov. Brian Sandoval and Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki are set to reveal details of the tourism campaign Thursday afternoon at Honey's Garden in Reno.
The Nevada Commission on Tourism says the "Discover Your Nevada" campaign shows off hidden treasures throughout the state. It will include a contest so residents can nominate the top destinations in each of six areas of the state.
Sandoval is also planning a series of Nevada road trips this spring as part of the campaign.
Tourism is Nevada's No. 1 industry in both urban and rural areas.
