Reno, NV - If you normally stay until closing time at the bars at the Freight House District, be prepared to leave earlier.

As part of increased security measures, last call at the bars will be at 1:45 am. That's about 45 minutes earlier than in the past.

John Scott, general manager of the Freight House District, hopes this will help prevent the kind of violence that happened last week.

On Sunday, Reno police say two groups of people linked to rival gangs got into a fight. It led to a shooting at a parking garage outside of Freight House. Macario Ortiz, 28, of Carson City, died in the shooting.

Businesses in the area are hoping people will keep coming to the area.

In addition to an earlier "last call," the lights will come on at Freight House at 2:00 am. That should help usher out the crowds earlier than usual.
