RENO, Nev. (AP) - The former president of the U.S. Bowling Congress who now oversees bowling operations at three Reno casinos has scaled back his resume after a blogger questioned claims about his college degrees and bowling titles.

The bowling website 11thframe.com first reported Thursday about the errors in Jim Sturm's resume previously posted on the web site of Reno Tri-Properties.

The Reno-Gazette Journal also reported Friday he has no bachelor's or master's degrees in marketing from West Virginia State University, nor did he win three Professional Bowlers Association titles.

The Bowling Congress repeated those claims in announcing he'd been elected president in 2011.

Congress spokesman Jason Overstreet said Friday no one questioned Strum's background while he served as unpaid president. He said the group presumes all bio info submitted by volunteers is correct.
