UPDATE: Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Chief Charles Moore says natural gas or smoke explosion might be the cause of the fire. He also says the family had three dogs; one of the dogs has been killed in the fire, one remains in veterinarian care and the other escaped the fire.

RENO, NV - Reno fire crews are investigating a fire at a house on Thunderbolt Drive, near Arrowcreek in south Reno.

Dispatch got the call shortly after 1PM Monday. There are no reports of injury except to one dog, which is being treated, and there was no one in the house. Damage is substantial, to the point at which the family of four won't be able to live there for the time being.

No cause has been determined, but sheriff's investigators say they are investigating a possible crime, and witnesses say they heard an explosion.
