Lyon County Sheriff's Office says the code red lockdown that began around 8:10 a.m. at Fernley High School is over.
According to the Sheriff's Office, someone reported a man walking with a gun in the area. The high school immediately went into lockdown.
The principal tells KOLO 8 all students had to stay int he classrooms they were in at the time of the lockdown. Meantime deputies searched the school and cleared it of any threat. They also located the man with the rifle.
Deputies say he was target shooting in the area and was never a threat. But parent were worried.
