SPARKS, Nev. -- The family of a man seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver is hoping for help both with finding the suspect and with recovery costs.

Craig McCauley was riding his motorcycle Thursday, July 5th on McCarran just south of Greg Street near the Truckee River when he was hit. He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries. More than a week later, McCauley's family says he is still in the intensive care unit.

Family members have set up an account for donations to help with the expenses while he is unable to work. You can donate at any Wells Fargo branch, account #6837605168.

Police are looking for a newer model burgundy Ford Taurus with dark tinted windows and a short driver. The car is missing a black strip of rubber, possibly from the front bumper.

If you see the car, please call Sparks police at 353-2231.
