TRUCKEE, CA – All lanes are back open in both directions of Interstate 80 in Truckee, now that a sinkhole in the center median has been repaired.
The sinkhole developed near Donner Pass Road during a paving operation late Thursday. The sinkhole was estimated to be approximately three feet in diameter and more than eight feet deep.
The CHP says Cold Stream Creek used to run where the current freeway is and believes some drainage may have led to the collapse. Nobody was hurt.
