DOUGLAS COUNTY, NV - NV Energy has restored a power outage in Douglas County that messed with traffic lights.
At 2:00 Thursday afternoon, East Fork Fire and Douglas County sheriff’s deputies responded to a fire on the corner of Hwy 395 and Sunridge Road near the Carson-Douglas county line. The fire was quickly contained, but it caused a power outage in the area including traffic lights at the intersection of Hwy 395 and Sunridge. Power has since been restored.
No structures were damaged and no one was reported injured. Investigation continues as to the cause of the fire, which was extinguished after burning roughly 20 feet by 20 feet, though a Douglas County spokesman says some sort of electrical transformer problem may have led to the fire.
