CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - One-quarter of active Nevada voters have already cast ballots in the November election during the first six days of early voting.
New tallies released Friday by the secretary of state's office shows nearly 317,000 people have voted either in person or by mail. That equates to 25 percent of active eligible voters statewide.
Democrats are outpacing Republicans at the polls so far by 10 percentage points. Of those who have voted in person, 46 percent are registered Democrats and 36 percent are Republicans. The rest are nonpartisans or affiliated with a minor political party.
Early voting began Oct. 20 and runs through Nov. 2. After that voters will have to go to designated polling locations Nov. 6 to cast their ballots on Election Day.
