RENO, NV - A Fernley man is dead after a single-motorcycle accident in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 west of Wadsworth.
NHP Spokesman Trooper Chuck Allen says the Nevada Highway Patrol first received the call of the accident at 8:41pm Thursday. When troopers arrived on scene at the Orchard Interchange (exit 38), they found the 55-year-old man ejected from his 2010 Harley Davidson.
The victim has been identified as Russell W. Morton. Troopers say he was traveling west in the left lane on his Harley-Davidson. For some reason, he allowed his motorcycle to depart the travel lane toward the left, where it hit a section of guardrail. He died at the scene.
