RENO, NV - A Reno woman was killed Thursday night in a rollover on 395 near Red Rock.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says about 9:30PM, 34-year-old Kariann Beechler was headed north in her SUV, driving very fast. She used the right paved shoulder to pass a big rig, and overcorrected, moving across both northbound lanes and rolling several times.
Beechler was pronounced dead at the scene. Toxicology tests are being done to see if she had been drinking.
Both left lanes of north and southbound US 395 were closed for approximately 4 hours while troopers completed their on-scene portion of the crash investigation.
Additional witnesses to the crash are encouraged to call Trooper Chris Kelly of the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) at (775) 689-4661 regarding case number NHP-121211911.
Beechler had worked for Reno's 911 emergency dispatch department since 2002.
