CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A Dayton man has been ordered to stand trial on a murder charge stemming from a shooting death that authorities said could have been fueled by drinking during the Super Bowl.

The Nevada Appeal reports 32-year-old David Grimes was bound over Friday to Carson City District Court on charges stemming from the Feb. 3 death of James Lay.

Grimes is accused of shooting the 32-year-old Lay in the chest during a fight outside Lay's Carson City house. The shooting occurred shortly after a Super Bowl party hosted by Lay and his wife, Donyelle Lay.

She testified the fight began after Grimes came to her home to drop off their son. She and Grimes have a child together.

She testified words were exchanged when Grimes brushed past James Lay.
