RENO, NV - A fire alarm is getting credit for alerting firefighters to a house fire in Sun Valley Monday morning.
The alarm automatically alerted a Truckee Meadows Fire Protection crew about the fire in a closet of the house on Cinnamon Court. Nobody was home at the time, and when firefighters got there, they called in extra crews and had the fire out within minutes.
Fire damage to the house was contained to a small area, but there is smoke damage through much of the home.
The fire was reported shortly after 8AM. The cause hasn't been determined.
