DAYTON, Nev. - The Como Fire between Mason Valley and Dayton is fully contained as of Wednesday morning.
The lightning-sparked fire on Bureau of Land Management land (BLM) in the Carson City District about 2.5 miles south of Rawe Peak has been fought wince noon Sunday. It burned roughly 770 acres.
No structures were threatened and no firefighters were hurt. The fire burned in rocky, steep, difficult to access grass, brush and pinyon-juniper woodland.
Sunday afternoon and evening, smoke from the fire could be seen from much of the Truckee Meadows.
