RENO, Nev. -- A crash on southbound 395/580 near the Moana exit caused traffic headaches Sunday morning.
The crash happened mid-morning when the driver looked down momentarily, then the vehicle hit the guard wall on the outside lane and flipped onto its side. The driver was not seriously injured and was able to get out of the vehicle without help.
Traffic was affected for hours. The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) tells KOLO 8 News Now that the outside lanes were shut down until just after noon for the accident investigation and clean-up. No alcohol was involved.
There have been a number of crashes in that stretch of freeway in the past few weeks. An NHP representative reminds drivers to keep their focus on driving and the road, including potential hazards. Traffic patterns have changed relatively often on 395/580 near Moana due to construction on the Moana on- and off-ramps.
