MINDEN, Nev. (AP) - A county manager in Nevada has accepted the position of Lane County, Ore., administrator.
Douglas County Manager Steve Mokrohisky announced Friday that he reached the decision after several days of deliberation.
While he did not give a specific date of departure, he told the Record-Courier of Gardnerville (http://bit.ly/1ocG721 ) that he would continue to serve in his current position through April budget workshops.
The 36-year-old Mokrohisky, who assumed his current job in 2011, was the top pick of five finalists for the Oregon job.
Lane County has a population of 350,000 and its seat is Eugene. Douglas County has a population of 50,000 and its seat is Minden, about 40 miles south of Reno.
The advertised salary for the Oregon job is $150,000 to $175,000, plus benefits.
