SPARKS, NV - Her family last saw 24-year old Vanessa Head eight days ago.
"My niece said she left," says her mother Melanie Scanlan. "Some guy picked her up in a gray car. She took the kids with her and she would be back by nine.
Since then, no word.
Police say there's no reason to suspect foul play, but she took with her her 2 year old son Michael and her 9 month old daughter Lily.
Melanie Scanlan says she's worried about her daughter who is vulnerable due to a short term memory disorder, but she's most concerned about her grandkids.
She says her daughter's cognitive disorder can at times make her an inattentive mother who needs to be reminded of her children's needs.
"Are they in a home? Are they on the street. I'm concerned that they're not being fed, not being taken care of."
It's believed Vanessa Head left to a man who she met on the dating site Meet Me. His online profile identifies him as an 18 year old man from Las Vegas with an online name of Tlee Mob.
A missing persons report has been sent there and also to Sacramento and Vallejo where he may have connections, but police say they know little about him.
Vanessa Head hasn't phoned or posted anything on the site, since writing she was excited about meeting her boyfriend. That was the day before she left.
Significantly, he posted a comment on his page three days ago, making no mention of her, but commenting he was "looking for a back massage."
Melanie Scanlan says it's not the first time her daughter has left to be with someone she met on line. That relationship turned abusive. Threats eventually led the family to seek a restraining order.
But that time she went alone and she phoned within three days to let her mother know she was OK.
This time there's been no call. Her whereabouts and her children's welfare are unknown and it's worrying.
"I just want a phone call to know they're OK, " she says, shifting into a direct appeal to her daughter. "Come back home. Whatever it is that you need call us and let us know so we'll know what to do. where to go. I just need a phone call.
