RENO, NV - A Code Yellow has been lifted at Cold Springs Middle School. The school was placed on lockdown for about an hour beginning around 4:00 PM Thursday following reports of a man firing a pellet gun in the area. Both Washoe County School Police and Washoe County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene. While most students had already left campus, some remained on the property for tutoring and after-school programs. According to authorities the lockdown was precautionary, and no direct threat was made to the school or students.
So far there have been no reports of an arrest. The investigation has been handed over to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.
