RENO, NV - A precautionary Code Yellow lockdown at Hug High School is over.
The lockdown was ordered because someone in the neighborhood called police after spotting someone walking around the school with a handgun. Police found that person, a 16-year-old boy, in a nearby neighborhood. He had a handgun, but police have found no evidence he was planning to use it. He is not a student at Hug.
He has been arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon on campus, being a runaway, brandishing a weapon, being a minor with a firearm, and obstructing an officer. Because he is a minor, his name hasn't been released.
