RENO, Nev. (AP) - A number of past and present members of the Reno City Council are considering running for mayor next year when Bob Cashell is forced to step down because of term limits.
Those in the mix include former councilman Dave Aiazzi, now a member of the Washoe County School Board, and former councilwoman Jessica Sferraza.
The Reno Gazette Journal reports current council members Dwight Dortch and Sharon Zadra also are mulling mayoral bids along with Reno businessman George "Eddie" Lorton, a frequent critic of the council.
Aiazzi already has registered his own web site, "AiaaziForMayor.com," as well as those of some potential foes, including DortchForMayor.com and SferrazzaForMayor.com.
Cashell first won his seat in 2002 and easily won re-election to two more terms.
Next year's primary is June 10.
