One of the Children's Cabinet locations in reno has gone green with new solar panels. The panels were installed in January at the Wilbur D. May Youth Center on Sinclair . The Children's Cabinet already had solar panels installed at their rock boulevard location. They had seen $7,000 worth of savings during that span and that number is expected to increase with addition of the sinlcar location panels. The Children's Cabinet says there are many direct benefits from this project for the families they work with.
"The funds that we save in power savings will go directly back to programming to supporting kids and families getting healthy in our community. It's great for cleaning the environment up, it's great for kids getting healthy, so it's a win win situation for all of us," says Exec. Director Mike Pomi.
