RENO, NV - The man known as the local "Chicken Wing King" has died.

According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, Willie Davison passed away over the weekend.

Davison co-founded Hot August Nights and founded the Great International Chicken Wing Society Cookoff.

We spoke with him just a few weeks ago at the cookoff at the Atlantis. The event drew 30-thousand people, despite the smoky skies from the Rim Fire.

A celebration of his life will be held this Saturday at the Sparks Recreation Department on Richards Way at 11AM.

Davison was 64 years old.
