Casino Workers Help Victim of Nearby Stabbing

SPARKS, Nev. -- Workers at the Rail City Casino helped the victim of a stabbing overnight in Sparks.

Rail City general manager Barry Phillips tells KOLO 8 News Now that around 3:30am on Sunday, a man who was bleeding came into Rail City asking for help.

Rail City employees immediately called for an ambulance and helped the man.

Phillips says the man had been stabbed several times in the body and that the stabbing occurred outside the Oasis Nightclub across the street from the casino. A Sparks Police spokesman says the victim had been trying to break up a fight when he was stabbed by another man.

Police describe the suspect as about 6 feet tall, 230 pounds with a military-type haircut. They say appears to be in is his late 20's to early 30's. At the time of the stabbing he was wearing a tight-fitting black shirt and dark blue jeans.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Sparks Police Department asks anyone with more information about the stabbing to call Sparks Police Detectives or provide information through Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.

Secret Witness is offering at $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.
