Carson City, NV - The struggles, desires, and thoughts of Afghan women were highlighted in Carson City on Wednesday night. Seven readers took to the stage at Boldrick Theater to read essays and poems written by Afghan women.
The event was put on by the Afghan Women's Writing Project and the Friends of the Carson City Library.
This was just one in a series of weeklong events hosted by the Carson City library during National Library Week. On Thursday, there will be a viewing of the film, Kandahar. It will take place from 6pm - 8pm at the library auditorium.
Then on Friday, the public is invited to meet author Jennifer Lauck and discuss her latest work: Found. It is her personal story of adoption.
