MINDEN, Nev. (AP) - The Minden Town Board has endorsed the Carson Valley Inn's plans to build an outdoor events center with a capacity of up to 800 to host concerts and other entertainment.
Developers say the open-air, wood building with a metal roof would have a "hay barn" theme. It's planned on a one-acre site northeast of the hotel-casino's existing parking lot on the edge of a wetland about 15 miles south of Carson City.
The Inn is owed by thoroughbred horse owner Mike Pegram.
General Manager Steve Chappell told the Record-Courier in Gardnerville the next step is to submit the plans to Douglas County. He says they're already working with the county and the Army Corps of Engineers to address challenges presented by the wetlands.
