CARSON CITY, NV - A longtime Carson City doctor was remembered at a celebration of life Tuesday. Dr. Gary Dankworth went on a climbing trip late last month, but it's believed he fell from the summit of Norman Clyde Peak.
Friends remembered Dankworth as a loving person and a healer. He is said to have loved the outdoors from an early age.
"It's a tragedy this had to happen but it's better to go doing something you love than any other way I think," David Ruf said.
Dankworth opened his first solo practice in Carson City in 1983.
He is also said to have been dedicated to his faith, and someone who loved sports. At one time he held a pole vaulting record.
Dankworth had four grown children.
The service was held at Capital Christian Center in Stewart.
