Car Crashes into Sparks Home

UPDATE: SPARKS, Nev. - Sparks police say reckless driving caused a car to crash into a home early Friday morning.

Police say that two cars were racing, a little before 3 a.m. in the area of Meadowlands and E. Greenbrae. One of the cars hit the side of the home on the 400 block of E. Queen Way.

When officers arrived they noticed that a silver sedan hit the gas meter and caused a gas leak. The driver of the silver sedan then got out and ran toward the second car.Officers then found two males inside the second vehicle.

Police say Brandon Allen and Matthew Sixberry were responsible for the crash and were arrested for DUI, reckless driving and other traffic related offenses. Allen was taken to the hospital as a precaution but, was quickly released and sent to Washoe County Jail.

NV Energy is on the scene and will be shutting off the gas to about 20 homes in the area of Probasco Way and Queen Way in Sparks. 4 homes in the same area will also have to be evacuated.
