Buckeye Fire Near Bridgeport Leads to Campground Evacuation

BRIDGEPORT, CA - Buckeye Campground has been evacuated because of an 1200-acre fire that's burning in Mono County, California, near Bridgeport.

The fire started burning around 11:40am on Sunday, according to Sierra Front.

It's burning off of 395 and Buckeye Canyon.

More than 100 firefighters are battling the blaze with five engines, two air tankers, and two helicopters.

It is sage and grass that is burning. No structures are threatened, and no one is hurt.

No word yet on how the fire started.
