Cold Springs Fire Downgraded to 57 Acres

UPDATE: Sierra Front reports that after aerial mapping, the Mud Springs fire burned only 57 acres, and is contained and in mop-up. No one was hurt and no structures damaged.


****UPDATE: The fire has been labeled as the "Mud Springs" fire.

According to Sierra Front, the fire has burned 120 acres, but the fire wall has been stopped.

No estimate at this time as to when it'll be fully contained or controlled, but several crews have been released from the scene, with those staying involved in overnight mop-up.


Firefighters are responding to a brushfire in Cold Springs. The fire started just after 12:00 p.m. north of Cold Springs Middle School.

The brushfire may have been caused by people target shooting in the area.
