Boys and Girls Club Warns of Scammers Going Door-To-Door

RENO, NV.--The Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is warning people after reports of an alleged scammer going door-to-door asking for donations for a program.

The Boys and Girls Club say they never do this type of solicitation. They also tell KOLO 8 News Now they also don't solicit donations at storefront tables or kiosks.

There have been several reports made to the club that an alleged scammer is knocking on doors in a Sparks neighborhood asking for donations for a "Second-Chance Basketball Program" for teens.

If you come in contact with these alleged scammers, call Reno Police Dispatch at 334-2121. If you come in contact with the alleged scammers in Sparks, call the Sparks Police Dispatch at 353-2231. If you have any questions about The Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, you can call the club administration at 331-KIDS (5437).
