RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police say human bones found by a hiker
over the summer belong to a 62-year-old man reported missing more
than four years ago.
Officials say Wednesday that a Texas DNA lab that analyzed the
remains identified them as David A. Williams of Reno.
Williams was reported missing in August 2007. His vehicle was
found that year at a park near Mayberry Drive and Plateau Road,
close to where the bones were later discovered.
Crews held an extensive search after Williams was reported
missing, but the remains weren't found.
The bones were discovered June 14 in brush so dense that a Reno
Public Works crew had to cut it away to recover them.
Police say Williams was depressed at the time of his disappearance, and may have committed suicide.
