RENO -- Legislators are considering reimbusing teachers for some of their out of pocket expenses. A senate bill with bipartisan sponsors would create a process for teachers to claim up to one hundred dollars in expenses.

"Usually it's between nine-hundred and twelve-hundred dollars a year," a kindergarten teacher told KOLO. She said she can typically get back two-hundred and fifty dollars from her tax return.

The bill would use money from the state's general fund to pay teachers back. The money is not in the proposed executive budget.

The bill will next be considered by a committee.
