RENO, NV - If you attended the annual "Battle for the Fremont Cannon" game at Mackay Stadium Saturday, you may have seen people handing out bumper stickers bearing a picture of a cannon and the words "Keep Fremont Blue."
The "Fremont" of course is the Fremont Cannon, college football's largest, most expensive trophy. It goes home each year with the winner of the game and gets painted in the their colors.
It's been Wolf Pack blue for the past eight years and the sticker is a nice way of showing your loyalties, but it's serving a different purpose as well.
The University Alumni Association and the Wolf Pack are using it to collect donations for the Sparks Middle School Compassion Fund, to help the victims of this week's tragic shooting.
Supporting the Pack and helping those impacted by the shooting. Two causes everyone in this town can get behind.
