WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. – High end items confiscated by local law enforcement are being auctioned off to the public, including a $180,000 Lamborghini Gallardo.
Back in 2011, detective with the Regional Street Enforcement Team and the Northern Nevada Interdiction Task Force investigated a wholesale marijuana broker.
That lead to an arrest of one man and seizure of a variety of items, including the Gallardo, a 2005 Yamaha Motorcycle and a 2006 Mercedes Benz.
Now through a process called “asset forfeiture”, law enforcement officers can sell those items as public auction.
The 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo has approximately 12,000 miles, and originally retailed for over $180,000. It is described as a two-door coupe with a base 493 horsepower 5.0-liter V10 with 375 ft/lb of torque and a zero to 60 time of a little over four seconds.
This auction will be held on April 13 at 9am at 601 Britain Drive, McCarran, Nevada. That is about 15 miles east of Reno at the USA Parkway exit.
You can preview the items by appointment on April 11 & 12, or go to the website, which is linked below. Online bidding is open for qualified buyers.
