SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA - Police pull an April Fool's Day prank to capture suspected South Lake Tahoe bank robber.

On March 29th the Wells Fargo Bank located inside Raley’s Heavenly Village Shopping Center in South Lake Tahoe was robbed by a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and sun glasses. Investigators
were able to identify the suspect as 26-year-old Joshua Schauert and a warrant was issued for his arrest on the same day.

On April 1, Sunday, officers discovered that Schauert had listed for sale a laptop computer on Craigslist. Undercover officers set up an agreement to purchase the laptop computer at Valero Gas station in So Lake Tahoe.

When Schauert showed up with laptop in hand, he discovered
that an April Fool's encounter had been arranged for him by the police.

Schauert was arrested without incident. Officers are looking into the possibility of the laptop being stolen.
