RENO, NV - A Reno woman is suspected of being under the influence when she apparently rear-ended an RTC bus in Sun Valley just before noon Monday.

A silver 2008 Honda Civic, driven by a 64-year-old Reno woman, was traveling eastbound on 1st Street around 11:50 a.m. She was turning left to go north onto Sun Valley Blvd when, accoding to Nevada Highway Patrol, neglected to see an RTC bus stopped and rear-ended the bus.

No one on the bus was injured and the errant driver sustained minor injuries says NHP.

The driver was transported to Reno Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance and REMSA personnel shortly after the collision.

There were no other passengers riding in the Honda.

The accident caused both northbound lanes to be closed for approximately 45 minutes while troopers completed their on-scene portion of the investigation. Traffic was rerouted onto adjacent streets.

NHP believes alcohol may be a factor as the driver of the Honda was found with alcohol at the crash scene.

A trooper is at the hospital this afternoon speaking to the driver and medical personnel. Her injuries did not appear to be very serious and she may be medically discharged later today.

Witnesses to the crash may contact Trooper Mike Edgell via the Department of Public Safety-Communications Center at (775) 687-0400 regarding case number NHP-120430220.
