AT&T: Service Restored, Credits to Be Applied

RENO, NV - AT&T service should be back on for everybody who lost it this week because of an outage that affected land lines, cell phones and Internet service.

Some areas didn't get service back until early Wednesday, but an AT&T spokesman says the circuits are back in operation, so any customers with current problems are experiencing something unrelated to this week's widespread outage.

AT&T describes it as a "software problem" out of its central office that led to many of its customers in northern Nevada and nearby parts of California losing connection.

The spokesman says if you called AT&T to report you were having a problem, you will get a credit for the length of the outage, and even if you didn't report it, if you call when you get your bill, a credit will be applied.
