SPARKS, Nev. -- An 'unlucky' bar fight landed a Reno man in jail this St. Patrick's Day weekend.
Sparks Police officials say the fight started at about 5:40pm Saturday at Luckie's Bar on E. Prater Way.
Officers responded to a call of multiple people in a fight, including one person who had a knife. But as they pulled up to the location, they learned the suspects had left in a full-sized pickup.
An officer on McCarran and Lincoln spotted the truck and made a a felony car stop based on information that at least one person in the pickup was armed.
Officers conducting the investigation at the bar found out the fight started between several people playing pool. During the fight, a 46-year-old Reno man, Roy Gumm, went to his truck and brought back a knife which he used to swing and slash at his opponents. One person was hurt in the fight but the injuries were minor, and he did not need medical attention.
Officers who made the traffic stop detained the two people inside the truck, one of whom was Gumm. They arrested him on assault with a deadly weapon and battery charges. His bail amount is set at $40,500.
