From KOLO 8 Weather Now... The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Wind Advisory. A wind advisory will be in effect from 8 AM until 11 PM on Thursday.

Karen Gaffney is swimming across Lake Tahoe to raise awareness about what people with Down Syndrome can do.

Karen Gaffney announced her plan to swim the width of Lake Tahoe at the National Down Syndrome Congress annual conference in August. Tuesday morning she jumped in the water to begin her swim. The goal is to raise awareness about what people with Down Syndrom can do.
