RENO, NV - Since Saturday, the Reno-Sparks area has seen at least 8 burglaries and two armed robberies.
The most recent was Monday morning. An armed white man in his early 20's wearing a black hoodie and a bandanna over his face walked into the 7-11 at 610 Mt. Rose Ave. just before 1:45 and demanded money from the clerk.
The clerk handed over some cash and the suspect ran away west on Mt Rose Ave. The clerk wasn't hurt.
Also this morning Reno Police are releasing the details of another armed robbery. This one happened at Chevron, 350 S. Arlington on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at approximately 11:17 p.m.
Police say this suspect was also wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with and a mask covering their face. But according to police, this suspect is a shorter Hispanic male between 5'9" and 5'10"
This suspect never produced a weapon and just kept their hand close to their waistband.
Also over the weekend, there were a series of burglaries. Two 18 year old suspects were booked on Sunday for Burglary. The details have not been released.
KOLO-8 News Now is learning more about another burglary over the weekend, following a tip from Facebook Fan Renee Kendall who say that her church in Silver Springs was burglarized. She says that some some food, a laptop and computer were taken. She also says that microphones were stolen but then dropped and brought back by police. She says the church is looking for donations to get a new computer.
And, another two suspects are on the loose after five different Sparks businesses were broken into early Saturday morning. Carniceria Samber on Oddie, Rainbow Market on Commerce, Scoopers on Prater, Jack's Coffee House on Victorian and The Alano Club on Prater were all broken into between 4:20 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Money was taken from each business.
Police say they don't know if all the Sparks burglaries we committed by the same people. They are reviewing video from each incident.
So far, they have released descriptions of two different suspects. One is a white male, 5'6"-5'8" around 170 lbs. He was seen wearing a gray sweat suit with a hoodie, along with black gloves and white shoes. He also had a red backpack. The second is a Latino male, 5'6"-5'8" around 180 lbs. He was wearing all dark clothes with black shoes. He had a gray backpack.
