CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada unemployment was up slightly in
September, reaching a new record of 13.3 percent statewide.
In the Las Vegas area, the jobless rate jumped half a percent, to 13.9 percent.
The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation said Monday that the jobless rate was 13.1 percent in the Reno-Sparks area and 12.8 percent in Carson City. Those numbers are not seasonally adjusted.
Nationally, the unemployment rate stood at 9.8 percent in September.
Officials say the deterioration in Nevada's labor market eased a bit in September. But the number of unemployed Nevadans now tops 190,000 and it'll take several months to see whether the recession is easing in the state.
Nevada's statewide unemployment rate a year ago was 7.3 percent.

Well, the unemployment rate will continue to rise in NV. There have only been 139 jobs saved/created and more are going to be lost. Small businesses will be forced to close if this ungodly health bill goes thru. Those who still do have jobs will lose there homes due to the large tax increase that will arise from this.
