A 25-year-old man is facing several charges of attempted murder of a police officer after he allegedly shot at Sparks Police Officers on Waterfall Drive around 5 am Sunday morning.

Sparks Police say Chad Recob shot several times at officers, nearly striking them. Three bullets struck a patrol car.

Police say the incident began after Recob got into an argument at a house party on Woodstone Drive in Sparks. A woman went to the Sparks Police Department and reported that she had been battered by Recob at the party and her car had been damaged.

Police say Recob left the party after the argument, returned with a gun, and began shooting at the home. Afterward, Recob went to his home at 3515 Waterfall Drive.

A short time later, officers were dispatched to Waterfall Drive after Recob's mother called, claiming that Recob had killed someone. When they arrived, Recob came out with a rifle, and began shooting at them.

Police were able to arrest Recob because his father was holding him down in the garage. Recob's mother called police, letting them know her son was disarmed and it was safe to enter.

Recob was booked on charges including 2 counts of Attempted Murder on a Police Officer. He's also charged with Attempted Murder for firing multiple rounds the home on Woodstone Drive.

Other local law enforcement agencies, including Reno Police, the Nevada Highway Patrol, and the SPD SWAT Team, responded to help Sparks Police.
