TRUCKEE, CA - Cooking with oil apparently led to an explosion that killed a woman in Truckee in August.

Fire investigators say a man was cooking in the Henness Flats apartment complex. His pan caught fire, and he put water on the pan to try to put it out. But the hot oil made the water vaporize, and that created a fireball.

His wife was killed, and he was badly burned. He's still in a hospital. Their three young children were also hurt, but they have fully recovered. No one else in the complex was hurt.
