RENO, Nev. (AP) - Casino slot machine maker International Game Technology says board Chairman T.J. Matthews will be replaced by Philip Satre.
A company statement released Thursday says the switch will happen Dec. 1.
Matthews is a former president and chief executive of Reno-based IGT. He turned over day-to-day chief executive duties last April to Patti Hart, a longtime technology industry executive. Matthews will remain on the company board of directors.
In a statement, Hart says IGT will benefit from Satre's experience in the casino and gambling industry and from his perspective as a customer for casino games.
Satre retired after 25 years in Harrah's front office in 2005, shortly before the company's $9 billion buyout of Caesars Entertainment.
He has been on the IGT board since January.
