The sound of an auctioneer.

It’s an all too familiar sound here at the Will Roger's Memorial Center, auctioneers looking for the highest bidder. And on this day the stock just happens to be former wild mustangs...taken off the range, and trained in 100-days all in an effort of going to a good home.

It's a day Reno resident Saunya Bolton has dreaded. She's established a special bond with her four year old mustang Il Divo, traveled hundreds of miles from Reno to Ft. Worth with him and did their best in competition--but on this day, its time to say goodbye.

The winning bid is a little over $700 for the mustang, yet another disappointment for Saunya.

Villarreal is colleague and trainer from Fairfield, Texas. He does his best to put the mustang experience for Saunya into perspective.

“Its 100 days a wild animal riding in an arena in front of thousands. That is an amazing feat for those animals. They give you their heart and soul and never complain,” says Villarreal.

Sauyna waits for Il Divo's new owner to arrive. It turns out to be 10 year old Zadok Scott. His mom, Barbara’s fiance Jerry Bailey purchased Il Divo for him and the winner of this competition Rembrandt for her.

What do you like about him?

“He is very gentle I guess,” says Zadok otherwise known as Z.

As they spend time together Saunya's sense of loss turns to a sense of accomplishment. Her hope is that Z will gain an appreciation for these animals and come to the same conclusion she has.

“They are beautiful. They are smart and we need to protect them,” says Saunya.
