First and second year medical students from the University of Nevada School of Medicine are providing care for Washoe County's medically underserved population. Under the direct supervision of licensed medical school faculty physicians, the students offer monthly Student Outreach Clinics which provide general, children's and women's care.

No insurance or appointment is necessary for clinic patients who are seen on a first come, first served basis. Each clinic offers complete physical examinations and referral services. The children's clinic provides school physicals and physicals for the Head Start program. The women's clinic provides pap smears, pregnancy counseling and sexually transmitted disease counseling.

All general medical clinics are held at the Salvation Army, located at 1931 Sutro Street, from 8 a.m. to noon. The next general clinic will be held on Saturday, January 20. Other scheduled dates for the general clinic include: Saturday, February 3; Saturday, March 3; Saturday, April 7; and Saturday, May 5.

All children's clinics are also held at the Salvation Army from 8 a.m. to noon. The next scheduled children's clinic will be held Saturday, January 27. Children's clinic dates include: Saturday, February 24; Saturday, March 31; Saturday, April 21; and Saturday, May 5.

The women's clinics are held at the School of Medicine's faculty physician practice offices located on the third floor at 1500 East Second Street. Women's clinics are held on Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. Currently scheduled women's clinics include: Monday, February 5; Monday, March 5; Monday, April 2; and Monday, May 7.
