It's so nice of IGT to say that the layoffs will be spread out equally, worldwide, between domestic and foreign workers. What about all of the domestic jobs that have been taken away from us by foreign workers? I know many immigrants who are still working 2 jobs in Reno. If the immigrants would spend their paychecks here instead of sending money back to their home countries, the economy would be in much better shape than it is in right now!

I agree with the comments below. Rogich is not from Northern Nevada, and neither is Patti Hart. What once was once a great Northern Nevada company and one of the largest employers in this town, is now migrating South. Last I heard, the "Headquarters" was Reno, not Las Vegas (thanks T.J. Matthews). Rumor has it, the cuts aren't over, and more will fall before the layoffs are done.

Um, the company told the employees. If you didn't know, you weren't paying attention. Many of the employees that were effected had known for months that this was coming. I do think that Rogich's "56" employees is low.

It's pretty ironic how the local news breaks this story. Too bad the company didn't tell the employees. Corporate greed and it starts at the top with the CEO. What was once a great local company has turned its back on its local roots for the investment community AKA Wall Street. Bad enough tax payers have bailed out New York (don't forget the auto industry and who knows what else), the working man still gets the end of the shaft. Maybe Ms. Hart and her fellow Executives should forgo their stock options (3/20/09 - 175,439 options awarded to CEO Patti Hart with a strike price range of $0.00-$9.12). I wonder what stock options will be awarded to the new CTO (Chief Technology Officer) and other Executives recently hired? Lead by example. Shame on you IGT!
