DOUGLAS CO., Nev. - A DUI checkpoint in Douglas County led to five arrests for DUI Thuisday.
Four of the arrests were for driving under the influence of alcohol and one was for marijuana.
The DUI checkpoint was all part of the “Joining Forces” traffic safety initiative.
Officers also issued several other non-driving citations. Ten minors were cited for alcohol and their ages range from 16-20. Some other citations handed out include three for possession of marijuana less than one ounce, three for drug paraphernalia, nine for child safety seat violations and four seatbelt tickets.
The main checkpoint was on eastbound US Highway 50 near Spooner Summit in Douglas County.
The DUI checkpoint was funded by the “Joining Forces” grant secured by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety and paid for by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
