The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is saying that 6-year-old Apollo Fuller is presumed to have drowned. The child went missing Saturday afternoon while camping at Lahontan Lake with his family.

Authorities made the announcement Sunday afternoon at a press conference. Sheriff’s officials say they presume the boy drowned because cadaver dogs tracked the boy’s scent into the water and alerted officers. The boy's family has also said that he was not a strong swimmer.

Authorities from several local jurisdictions have been searching for the boy since about 1:00 pm Saturday, but a body has not been found. A team of about sixty people have been scouring the area, and will continue looking.

The Washoe County Hasty Team had been using scuba divers and sonar capabilities to search underwater. The team continues searching the lake and surrounding areas.

This breaks my heart. I used to be one of the many teachers that loved this little boy. He sat in my lap many mornings wrapped up in his blanket and didn't want to do anything else but be hugged. He was such a sweetheart and I am so so sorry for his family and especially his dad. He gave him about a billion kisses before he could leave in the mornings..We love you Apollo.

grandfather, What happen to my grandson should not of happen. I pray to God this should never happen to anyone. It is a living hell, that some of us will never get over. The hanger I have, I hope will go away some day, or I may end up with no friends. As my son said not knowing if he was taken or in the lake was worse than not knowing. heaven help the ones that new and didn't speak up. To the few people who talked about the Sheriffs, I think with what they new Sat. they did a great job. There was no need to stop cars or motor home Sun when they new AJ was in the lake. Dogs don't tell STORYS. For Jackie and Jeff Denson not only did they had a lost they will never get over two weeks ago, now they also have lost a wonderful, sweet nephew. TJ's best buddy.

I wanted to post a message to Apollo's family....I used to work at University Preschool/Little Bear, and Apollo was in my class...I was so sad to hear about this story, and know that you all are in my prayers...I remember him as being a sweet little boy, sometimes quiet, always enjoyed being with his friends at school....all my love, Apollo...Miss Debora
