A January 26th sentencing hearing has been set for a Spring Creek woman convicted of killing her 6-year-old stepson by beating and salt poisoning.

Chrystal Hunt was convicted by a jury last week of one count of
first-degree murder and two counts of child abuse resulting in
substantial bodily harm to Kyle Hunt at their residence on December
19th.

The same jury couldn't decide on Hunt's punishment so District Judge Mike Memeo declared a mistrial and will impose sentence.

The 43-year-old Hunt faces three sentencing possibilities on the
murder charge: Life in prison without the possibility of parole; life with possible parole after 20 years; or a minimum of 50 years with possible parole after 20 years.

She also faces 2 to 20 years in prison for each of the abuse charges.
